About me

A calm, respectful space to explore what matters to you.

Simon, counsellor at Branch Counselling

I’m Simon, a person-centred counsellor offering calm, confidential support for adults navigating anxiety, loss, relationship difficulties, and life’s challenges. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change when they are met with empathy, understanding, and respect.

Counselling isn’t about being told what to do or having your experiences analysed. It’s about having a space where you can slow things down, speak openly, and feel genuinely heard — often for the first time.

My approach

My work is rooted in person-centred counselling, an approach that places you at the centre of the process. Rather than directing or diagnosing, I focus on creating a safe, non-judgemental relationship where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

  • • Warmth, empathy, and authenticity
  • • A confidential, judgment-free environment
  • • Space to reflect, explore, and make sense of your experience

You don’t need to arrive with clear answers or a specific goal. We work with whatever feels most important for you in each session.

What working together can look like

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of yourself.

In our sessions, we can explore difficult emotions in a safe and supported way, develop greater self-understanding and clarity, strengthen self-confidence and self-acceptance, and find steadier ground during times of uncertainty or change.

There is no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. The pace and focus are always guided by you.

Who I work with

I work with adults from all walks of life and with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma, self-esteem, stress, and life transitions.

If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, or whether I’m the right counsellor, that uncertainty is welcome too.

Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. You don’t need to have it all figured out — curiosity, uncertainty, and hesitation are all part of the process.
